Customer Review: Excellent Value for a Good quality shear

One of my kids made off with my trusty old kitchen shears. Oh, they're blaming the dog here, but I know that he doesn't have opposable thumbs, and couldn't be the culprit. So, to my trusty friends at Amazon I came, and found these shears. I purchased based upon the Farberware brand, and couldn't have been more correct. The shears are sharp, and work well to open all sorts of packaging. They're also very strong, suitable for such heftier tasks as taking legs and wings off the chicken at the joint. No more tricky knife work for me! (I did make the whole family laugh when my 9 year old was making a big deal out of cutting his steak, and I cut it into bite sized morsels with these shears. The request was made that I pass them around the table, and denied.)

Farberware Set of Two Black Handled Kitchen ShearsA good pair of multi-purpose kitchen shears is hard to come by, and this set includes two pairs. Keep one in the kitchen, the other in the craft room or workshop; or, give one to your most deserving friend. Each pair is constructed of very sharp, heavy-duty stainless-steel blades that cut through everything from chicken tendons to cardboard and that hard-to-open plastic clamshell packaging. The pointed tips snip parsley, chives, and other herbs right from the garden. The loop handles, in a choice of black or red, accommodate left or right hands and feature an integrated bottle opener. Measuring eight inches in overall length, the shears are dishwasher-safe but are best cared for when washed by hand. --Ann Bieri
