Customer Review: Perfection does exist after all!

I stumbled onthis marvel when searching for a replacement for myclassic Lodge cast iron grill pan. While it delivered great performance the cast iron, once seasoned, is never to be washed with detergent again. While pouring boiling water on thestill hot suface and scrubbing with a stiff brush does clean after a fashion, it also required the use of several paper towels( which become badly soiled with black "something" to remove debris then a application of nonstick spray(PAm) to prevent rusting. Still not being able to wash this super heavy pan with soap kept bothering me.The Farberware grill pan is made of 18/8 stainless with a thick aluminum base( stainless encapsuled) and is heavy enough to make perfect contact with electric elements. The cooking results are identical to what is obtained with the cast iron but cleanup is a cinch and the phenolic handle( with hanger loop is nice in length - a great improvement on the cast itron which requires a handle cover and is very short and dangerously hot unless covered with a propriety handlecover( extra cost). This Farberware pan is gorgeousand performs to perfection. My only complaint is the stupid warranty card. these greedy idiots ask for my private info( called"demographics") but expect ME to pay for the postage- sorry morons you'd have to pay me for that info( not that you really care in the first place!I urge all buyers to never ever return these unethical( they intrude on your privacy!) documents.Otherwise,I'm seriously considering throwing out my present "nonstick" pots& pans set andreplacing with all Farberware "Classic" superior cookware. AND the prices are stupendouslylow from Amazon.com!this stainless line cleans up easier than nonstick.justget one nonstick omelette pan: stainless and eggs mix poorly.I suggest the Calphalon 9 inch"collectoredition omelette pan. it isexpensive even on sale but worth the price OR BETTER YET: one of the extra expensive allclad brand nonstick interior stainleess omelette pans(or cuisinart brand equivalent: You bite the bullet only once!Or consider the 3 piece nonstick Aluminum Farberware frying pan set which Amazon.com nearly gives away forthe price of a couple of medium pizzas!So what if they only last 25 years?!
