I bought my husband this kettle because he kept ruining our pots when he put water on to boil then went to work in his home office and never came back until it was TOO LATE, and the pot would be empty and burnt. This whistle can be heard from anywhere in the house, and is so loud, that it demands to be addressed quickly. It is also an attractive design. I would recommend it to people who have big houses or have hearing difficulty. I would not recommend it to people in small apartments or to those who would be startled by loud noises.
