I bought this toaster oven because I wanted RED, and not a big one. This is a pretty red that matches my Fiesta dinnerware and the accents in my kitchen. It is clean and simple in appearance, without a lot of "bells & whistles". It has one timer (dial) to turn it on and start the timer. You need to watch the toast (or item) so you get it to the color you want for the first few times. Then you will know where to set the timer. It's way simple, not like a microwave or vcr. I haven't had it long enuf' to say how it will last, but Farberware has been around for a long time, so I'm confidant.
